Artists : Nicola Patten

I graduated from University College Falmouth in 2010 with a degree in Illustration and a fondness for the sea. I currently live in Reading splashing watercolour and ink around and tidying them up digitally whenever there isn’t a naughty schnoodle puppy sitting between myself and the screen or resetting the Photoshop layout with her paws. When I am not illustrating I am usually either drinking Chinese tea, playing the mandolin or making hats.

Since graduating I have undertaken work placements at Hallmark and Tigerprint and in 2012 I was one of six selected illustrators for the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators ‘Undiscovered Voices’ anthology. I have since signed with the wonderful Bright Agency who are working with me to develop my licensing and children’s book illustration.
